5) In your opinion, how has the digital age changed Galtung and Ruge’s news values?
The digital age has gone away from Galtung and Ruge's news values to some extent. This is done as with digital media it can be much more easier to effectively attract audiences. A key way this can be completed is through clickbait; incising the audience into clicking and viewing a post due to interest sparked from an exaggerated headline or thumbnail. Another important reason is that audiences have the opportunity to now speak out which will make them more likely to read or understand a news article with passion as they can also give their opinion.
6) How would you update these news values for the digital age? Choose TWO of Galtung and Ruge's news values and say how they have been affected by the growth of digital technology.

Time span- It is possible to publish a media based news outlet in seconds/ minutes in a day which increases the competition for Traditional news outlets to stay relevant. Traditional outlets would need to make efforts to ensure they get unheard information or the news before everyone else does in order to maintain relevancy.
Cultural proximity or relevance - This is harder to use to attract audiences now as digital audiences or global and they can discover news anywhere from around the world. I would update this by instead having the global relevancy and importance a news source has across the globe.
