October blog feedback and learner response

WWW: I enjoyed your first blog task - always great to have returning students join the course based on their positive experiences at GCSE. I admire your honesty about struggling to complete the filming for your coursework, something to be mindful of at the end of Year 12 and during Year 13, when we turn our attention to Coursework. Really good analysis on your Reading and Image blog post, lots of detail through your ability to include subject specific terminology like narrative codes.

EBI: Two key areas to improve here: firstly, some of your work is missing or unfinished and it’s important to make sure you are organised and fully completing work, you have not published since the middle of September. Make sure you post the Genre and Narrative blogs as soon as you can. On a side note, try and develop your exposure to other forms of media such as Newspapers, to ensure you are exposed to a variety of newsworthy content.

LR: Complete any missing or unfinished work.

Reflect on your work in A Level Media so far:

What is your strongest piece of work? Reading an image media codes due to the detail and useful information .

What is your weakest? A level media introduction due to the short answers .

What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

To learn in depth all of the media theories .
